Mosher Marsh Preserve
Town of Amsterdam
Less than 1 mile of trails over easy terrain with seasonal wetness
Ellie Peters donated this 43-acre preserve to MHLC in 2008. It consists largely of a natural wetland with several shallow man-made ponds to enhance wildlife habitat. A small stream, a tributary to the Chuctanunda Creek, flows through the middle of the property. The site also contains a mix of fields with woods and a historic family cemetery. There is a loop trail with a 300 foot boardwalk that runs through the wetland.
From Rt 5 between Amsterdam and Schenectady take Truax Road. Truax Road becomes Manny’s Corner Road after it crosses Rt 67. Parking for Mosher Marsh is on the left, 0.5 miles after the intersection with Rt 67.
