On Monday, May 23 a crowd of enthusiastic individuals joined Albany County to officially open the paved portion of the Albany County Helderberg Hudson Rail Trail. County Executive Daniel P. McCoy was joined by state and local officials, and MHLC Executive Director, Mark King. Three common themes were heard from the speakers; giving thanks to everyone involved in making the Rail Trail a reality; excitement and joy for this tremendous achievement; and the need to maintain momentum and energy for the Rail Trail and it’s continuous improvement.
The event concluded with a ribbon cutting ceremony and the unveiling of the Rail Trail’s first branded sign. Thank you to everyone who came out to show their support on Monday!
