eBirding Training: A Citizen Science Volunteer Opportunity

Want to help MHLC document the bird species found on our preserves? Attend our eBird training to learn how to use the eBird and Merlin apps from Andrew Dreelin of the Cornell Lab of Ornithology. We’ll be providing tools to hone your bird identification skills. Improve your birding knowledge and contribute to Mohawk Hudson Land Conservancy’s need for information about the birds on our nature preserves. Those who attend this training will be eligible to participate in citizen science eBirding group conducting eBird surveys throughout the 2019 season.
Space is limited, so please register early.

Wineberry Removal Workday on the Rail Trail with PRISM – Wednesday, June 12th 9 AM – 1 PM (rain date is June 13th at the same time)
Attend this Invasive Species Removal Day in Partnership with the Capital Mohawk PRISM. Come learn some of the more common terrestrial invasive plant species and make an impact beautifying the trail next to the new murals!
During this work morning, we will be removing the northernmost Wineberry patch in the Capital Region as well as other assorted shrubby and herbaceous invasive species.
Meet at the Slingerlands parking area to walk over to the Cherry Ave bridge overpass. Tools will be provided but please bring a pair of gloves, plenty of water, and a lunch if you would like to eat after we finish the morning. Our rain date will be Thursday, June 13 from 9 AM to 1 PM.
