Winn Preserve Trail Afternoon 
Thursday, May 23rd from 12 – 4 PM
Winn Preserve, Knox, NY

The rain date is Friday, May 24th, at the same time. We’ll do general trail maintenance and install trail junction signs at Winn Preserve. To RSVP, please email sawyer@mohawkhudson.org.

 

National Trails Day with MHLC

Holt Preserve, New Scotland, NY

Join MHLC for National Trails Day! We’ll do trail work and improve the trail system one of our most popular preserves: the Holt Preserve in New Scotland.

Wineberry Removal Workday on the Rail Trail with PRISM

Wineberry Removal Workday on the Rail Trail with PRISM – Wednesday, June 12th 9 AM – 1 PM (rain date is June 13th at the same time)

Attend this Invasive Species Removal Day in Partnership with the Capital Mohawk PRISM. Come learn some of the more common terrestrial invasive plant species and make an impact beautifying the trail next to the new murals!

During this work morning, we will be removing the northernmost Wineberry patch in the Capital Region as well as other assorted shrubby and herbaceous invasive species.

Meet at the Slingerlands parking area to walk over to the Cherry Ave bridge overpass. Tools will be provided but please bring a pair of gloves, plenty of water, and a lunch if you would like to eat after we finish the morning. Our rain date will be Thursday, June 13 from 9 AM to 1 PM.

Trail Building and Improvements at the Holt Preserve

Holt Preserve, New Scotland, NY

Please meet at the Lower Entrance on Lower Copeland Hill Road. We will be conducting trail improvement projects at MHLC’s oldest preserve all summer long. To RSVP, please register on our events page.

 

Volunteer Tree ID Training with Laurie Lyons-Swift at the Bozen Kill Preserve
Saturday, July 13th from 9:30 to 11:30 AM

Join Bozen Kill Preserve Co-Steward Laurie Lyons-Swift for a training session on local tree identification. This training is open to all MHLC volunteers. To RSVP, please register on our events page.

 

Trail Maintenance, Invasive Vine Cutting, and Stump Removal at the Fox Preserve
Monday, July 29th from 9 AM to 12 PM – Rain Date: Tuesday July 30th

Join us to do some trail spruce up work cutting vines, clearing branches and overgrowth, and keeping our trail looking clear and inviting. Please bring your own loppers, handsaw, and work gloves if you have them. To RSVP, please register on our events page.
