The lands of Normans Kill East serve as a buffer the site of a 2000 landslide along Delaware Avenue in the Town of Bethlehem. Albany County obtained the parcels of the Normans Kill Preserves in 2005 due to tax foreclosure, which were then subsequently turned over to Mohawk Hudson land Conservancy for protection.

This preserve is accessible by CDTA Route 18; a short walk from the Delaware Ave/Mason Rd stop.
