In celebration of Native American Heritage Month, we are proud to announce the completion of our preserve-wide kiosk sign update. This project was made possible with funds from a Stewardship and Resource Management Grant awarded to MHLC by the Land Trust Alliance.
If you walk the green trail at Winn Preserve, you might notice something missing—the old cabin. MHLC inherited the Winn Cabin when the preserve was donated in 1997. The kit cabin has sat vacant on the property ever since and has been vandalized over the years.
We're thrilled to announce that the old farm bridge connecting to the northern portion of Bender Melon Farm Preserve is now open! The bridge renovation was generously funded by the Long family of Slingerlands in memory of their son, Ryan C. Long.
On June 1, 2024, the MHLC office will move from our Delmar location to a larger space at the Albany Pine Bush Preserve on the 2nd floor above the Discovery Center.
