Restifo Sanctuary

If you are looking for a short walk in the woods with excellent birding opportunities, be sure to check out the Restifo Sanctuary. A short, 200-yard trail leads through stately large trees to a clearing with expansive views of the preserve’s waters and wetlands.

Joseph Restifo donated the preserve to MHLC in 2013. Joe’sl ove of nature and the land guided his donation ensuring the serene waters oft his preserve would be protected. Water from Restifo Sanctuary eventually flows to Catskill Creek, a major tributary to the Hudson River and part of the CatskillMountain watershed.
